Attendance and wages app for construction labour contractors

HaazriPro is a construction labour attendance app for labour contractors. On site, the supervisor or munshi taps each worker's face photo to mark the day, with no network needed. At month end HaazriPro adds up days, half-days and overtime, deducts advances, and gives you the wages for every worker and a bill for every site.

Why does construction labour attendance go wrong?

A construction site is the hardest place to keep a muster. Gangs arrive in the dark, work moves between floors and blocks, the network drops below ground, and the munshi is also handling material, measurements and the site engineer's questions. The muster roll is often a notebook, filled at the end of the day or the end of the week. Then the arguments start:

  • Same names in one gang. Two or three workers from the same village often share a name. In a notebook, their days get mixed up.
  • Daily wages, half-days and overtime. A worker who left at lunch, or stayed three hours late to finish a slab, needs a different entry from a plain present day.
  • Advances every week. Cash advances for food and travel are the norm, and forgotten advances are the biggest source of payday fights.
  • Workers moving between sites. A gang shifted to another project mid-month needs to be paid once, and each project costed separately.
  • No signal on site. Basements, cores and remote projects have weak or no network.

How does HaazriPro work on a construction site?

  1. Add each worker once with a photo taken on site, their daily rate, and the site they work at. The munshi or supervisor can add new arrivals and assign them to their own sites.
  2. Each morning, open the site and tap faces. Present, late with the time in, half-day, paid leave, overtime, absent or transferred. Colours show each status at a glance.
  3. No network? Keep marking. Everything is saved on the phone and syncs when the phone gets signal again.
  4. Hand over an advance? Record it in the advances ledger; it comes off that worker's pay at month end.
  5. Month end: the salary sheet shows days, half-days, the overtime hours recorded, advances and net payable for every worker. Export it, print it, or share it on WhatsApp.

There is no face recognition and no biometric machine. The munshi looks at the worker and taps their photo, which is quicker than finding a name in a notebook and stops one worker's days being written against another's.

What do labour contractors get?

  • Face-photo muster

Tap a worker's photo to mark the day; no names to confuse.

  • Works with no signal

Marks save on the phone and sync later, on a basic Android phone.

  • Half-days and overtime

Half-day counts as half; overtime hours are recorded on the day.

  • Advances ledger

Every cash advance recorded and deducted at month end.

  • Wages sheet

Days and half-days, overtime hours recorded and added to the sheet, minus advances, for every worker.

  • Bill or cost per site

Staff-days × the agreed rate for each project, plus site profit and loss.

  • Back-fill audit

See which days were marked late instead of on the day.

  • 9 languages

The munshi can use the app in their own language.

How are daily wages worked out?

For a daily-rated worker, wages are the days present (late days count as full days) plus each half-day as half a day, multiplied by the daily rate, plus overtime pay, minus advances. Here is a simple month for one worker, with overtime at twice the normal rate:

LineWorkingAmount
Full days23 days × ₹650₹14,950.00
Half-days2 × ½ × ₹650₹650.00
Overtime6 hours × (₹650 ÷ 8) × 2₹975.00
AdvancesTwo cash advances−₹3,000.00
Net payable₹13,575.00

The Code on Wages, 2019 requires overtime at not less than twice the normal rate of wages; check how it applies to your workers with your CA. The free contract staff salary calculator and overtime calculator work it out.

Can you track several projects at once?

Yes. Each project is a site with its own supervisors and its own grid. A gang moved from one project to another is marked transferred at the old site and assigned to the new one, so each worker is paid once and each project's labour cost is counted separately. If you bill a builder per staff-day, each site's billing rate turns that site's staff-days into its bill, and the site profit and loss report shows what each project earned against its wage cost.

How do you start on your next project?

  1. Create the project as a site, with the billing rate per staff-day if you bill the builder that way.
  2. Photograph each worker on arrival and enter their daily rate. Workers coming back from an earlier project are already in the app.
  3. Give the munshi or supervisor the site on their own Android phone.
  4. Mark the muster every morning by tapping faces, and record advances as you hand them over.
  5. Close the month from the wages sheet, and keep your notebook for the first month to compare.

Because every worker keeps the same record across projects, the second project is quicker to set up than the first. A gang that moves with you is reassigned to the new site rather than added again, and their advances and pay history move with them.

What does it cost?

₹499 a month flat, or ₹349 a month billed annually, for up to 500 staff, with unlimited sites and supervisors. Try it free for 30 days, no card needed.

Which free guides and tools help construction contractors?

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on sites with no mobile network?

Yes. Attendance is saved on the phone first and syncs when the phone has signal again. Marking never waits for the network.

Can the munshi use it without much reading?

The grid is built around faces, colours and large buttons rather than text, and the app is available in 9 languages.

How are advances deducted?

Record each advance when you give it. At month end it is deducted from that worker's net payable on the wages sheet.

Is this face recognition or a biometric system?

No. The munshi taps the worker's photo on a grid. No camera scan, no fingerprint and no biometric data.

Can I handle several projects?

Yes. Each project is a site with its own grid and supervisors, and workers moved between projects are paid once.

Can I print the muster and wages?

Yes. Reports export as PDF or Excel and can be printed or shared on WhatsApp.

Can I pay some workers monthly and others daily?

Yes. Each worker has either a daily rate or a monthly salary, and the wages sheet works out each one the right way, including a change of rate in the middle of a month.

Close the muster and the wages from the site itself

Supervisors mark attendance by tapping each staff member's face photo, even offline. The salary sheet and the client bill are ready at month end.
