What does this mean for your rate per post?
The minimum wage is only the first line of your cost. On top of it you pay a reliever for 7-day posts, employer PF, ESI and bonus, uniform and your service charge, and GST goes on the bill. Use the "Rate per post" link in any row above: it opens the manpower rate calculator with that row's monthly basic and VDA filled in. Where a state notifies monthly rates, the daily figure is the monthly rate ÷ 26; where it notifies daily rates, the monthly figure is the daily rate × 26.
When are the rates revised?
Revised every six months through a CPI-linked Variable Dearness Allowance (as stated in the notification).
What should you note about these rates?
- One set of daily rates (minimum wage + revised VDA) applies to all 29 scheduled employments in the notification, state-wide.
- Notified daily totals: ₹555 unskilled, ₹598 semi-skilled, ₹640 skilled, ₹682 highly skilled.
- The notification says the rates include wages for the weekly day of rest, the working day is 8 hours (48 hours a week), and overtime is paid at double the ordinary rate.
- It supersedes Notification No. LE&SD.9/2023/Pt/14 dated 21 July 2025.
