Part of our guide: Minimum wages by state for security, housekeeping and construction
By HaazriPro Team · Last updated
What does the minimum wage in Madhya Pradesh depend on?
Like other states, Madhya Pradesh fixes minimum wages separately for each type of work (such as security services, shops and establishments, or construction), for each skill level (unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, highly skilled), and often for different zones. Rates usually have a basic part and a VDA that is revised from the cost of living, often twice a year. Read the current notification for the category, skill and zone of each site.
When are the rates revised?
Rates are notified by the Labour Commissioner, Indore for six-month periods (1 April to 30 September and 1 October to 31 March), as a minimum basic wage plus a variable dearness allowance.
What should you know before you check the rates?
- Madhya Pradesh sets one set of rates for the whole state by skill level: unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled.
- On 8 October 2026 we could not open the Labour Commissioner's notification for 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027 on an official website, so no current rates are shown here yet.
- The six-month periods and skill levels are taken from a Seoni district order (April 2026) that applies the Labour Commissioner's notification dated 31 March 2026: https://cdn.s3waas.gov.in/s398dce83da57b0395e163467c9dae521b/uploads/2026/05/17780882992472.pdf
