What does this mean for your rate per post?
The minimum wage is only the first line of your cost. On top of it you pay a reliever for 7-day posts, employer PF, ESI and bonus, uniform and your service charge, and GST goes on the bill. Use the "Rate per post" link in any row above: it opens the manpower rate calculator with that row's monthly basic and VDA filled in. Where a state notifies monthly rates, the daily figure is the monthly rate ÷ 26; where it notifies daily rates, the monthly figure is the daily rate × 26.
What should you note about these rates?
- The notification sets one schedule of rates by area and skill that applies to all employments, so the security, housekeeping and construction tables are identical.
- Basic rates were fixed from 11 March 2024; the VDA shown is payable from 1 April 2026, based on the July to December 2025 average consumer price index.
- The notification gives both monthly and daily rates. The per-day column shows the daily rates exactly as notified (rounded to the rupee); it says monthly rates convert to daily by dividing by 26, and daily to monthly by multiplying by 26.
