- Zone I: Municipal corporation and municipality areas, and areas under an urban development authority or nagar palika
- Zone II: All other areas of Gujarat
- Area A: Sweeping and cleaning only: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and 10 km around it
- Area B: Sweeping and cleaning only: Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Surat, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh municipal corporations and 5 km around them

What does this mean for your rate per post?
The minimum wage is only the first line of your cost. On top of it you pay a reliever for 7-day posts, employer PF, ESI and bonus, uniform and your service charge, and GST goes on the bill. Where a state notifies monthly rates, the daily figure is the monthly rate ÷ 26; where it notifies daily rates, the monthly figure is the daily rate × 26.
When are the rates revised?
The special allowance is revised every six months, on 1 April and 1 October, based on the cost of living index.
What should you note about these rates?

- Shops and commercial establishments have the same basic rates as the Zone I and Zone II rows above.
- The special allowance of ₹72.50 a day applies from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027 to the 46 scheduled employments, ship breaking, and sweeping and cleaning.
- Gujarat notifies daily rates. Monthly figures here are daily × 26.
