What does this mean for your rate per post?

The minimum wage is only the first line of your cost. On top of it you pay a reliever for 7-day posts, employer PF, ESI and bonus, uniform and your service charge, and GST goes on the bill. Where a state notifies monthly rates, the daily figure is the monthly rate ÷ 26; where it notifies daily rates, the monthly figure is the daily rate × 26.

What should you note about these rates?

• Housekeeping and construction rows: VDA is the cumulative previous VDA plus the new VDA from Notification No. E-238621/703, effective 1 January 2026. Monthly totals as notified: ₹10,543.39 unskilled, ₹12,257.43 semi-skilled, ₹15,322.74 skilled, ₹19,709.98 highly skilled.

• Assam notifies one set of rates state-wide, with no zones.
• VDA is fixed on 100% neutralisation of the rise in the All India CPI for Industrial Workers (as stated in both notifications).
