What does this mean for your rate per post?

The minimum wage is only the first line of your cost. On top of it you pay a reliever for 7-day posts, employer PF, ESI and bonus, uniform and your service charge, and GST goes on the bill. Use the "Rate per post" link in any row above: it opens the manpower rate calculator with that row's monthly rate filled in. Where a state notifies monthly rates, the daily figure is the monthly rate ÷ 26; where it notifies daily rates, the monthly figure is the daily rate × 26.

When are the rates revised?

The order says the rates are revised every six months, taking into account variable dearness allowance; recent orders apply from 1 January and 1 July.

What should you note about these rates?

  • Order No. 229 declares one minimum rate per day across all employments of the Union Territory, issued under section 7 of the Code on Wages, 2019; the rate is all-inclusive, with no separate VDA.
  • The revision took into account the Average All India Consumer Price Index from October 2025 to March 2026.
  • Other terms and conditions of Notification No. 133/2023/F dated 27.12.2023 remain unchanged, per the order.

Where do these figures come from?

Source: Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Office of the Labour Commissioner, Order No. 229 (F. No. A-196/1/2022-Lab.Ins-1-LAB AN), minimum rates of wages w.e.f. 01.07.2026, effective from 1 July 2026. Categories with their own notification link to it above. Last checked on 8 October 2026.
